Whitsunday Islands Cruises (during July to October) For those who really like to feel a sense of luxury, they leave the colder regions of Australia behind over winter and head for the beautiful, tranquil and much warmer climate found in coastal Queensland.

Gold Coast, Stradbroke and Queensland Tropical Island Tours (all year round) Although some people feel uncomfortable with the higher humidity felt in the tropics, The Gold Coast registers the “mildest” temperatures in all of Australia, ranging from 12 – 26 degrees in winter and 14 to 32 degrees in summer. Of course, if you travel south into N.S.W. to Tweed Heads, inland to the west or further north towards Brisbane, the temperate fluctuates a few degrees more.

Port Albert (from November to June) is a beautiful and somewhat ‘undiscovered’ resort-style town on the South Eastern Coast of Victoria, Australia. It is located approximately 209 kilometres south-east of Melbourne midway between Yarram and Welshpool, and only a few kilometres off the South Gippsland Highway at Alberton.

Places To Stay – We always love to give a recommended list of accommodation specials, getaway deals, packages and more.

How To Get To Port Albert – If you’re travelling from Melbourne, Port Albert takes around 3 hours by car along the South Gippsland Highway, through Korumburra, Leongatha, Koonwarra, Meeniyan, Foster, Agnes, Hedley and Welshpool. It’s then only a short drive from where you turn-off at Alberton (just before the Shell service station).

An alternate route from Melbourne is to drive east along the Princes Highway to Traralgon, turn right towards Yarram on the Hyland Highway, and then on to the South Gippsland Highway, turning left just after the Shell Service Center at Alberton.

If you are travelling from New South Wales, take the Princes Highway to Sale, then the South Gippsland Highway through to Yarram.

How To Find The The Best SailingTours – Once you arrive, you will see the harbour to your left. Drive through the carpark until you reach the Jetty (near the car and trailer parking area). It’s only about 50 meters from the entrance to where the sail boat is moored.

Port Albert Picture Gallery – To give you a birds-eye view of the surrounding countryside, the harbour, the water views, the historical architecture, the features and facilities in the township itself, we have included a picture gallery photographed by Elizabeth Richardson and kindly provided by the South Gippsland Website or feel free to browse through the delightful images below.
